New Summer Time HSITP Shows Huge Success...
Well, Jeanne can say she's lived through launching two new show venues in approximately one week - and both were smashing successes... the new show at the Florida Carriage Museum and Resort/Continental Acres was very well received by everyone who attended - and each and every one who came said they'd never seen such a lovely, elegant, and pristinely perfect show venue - from the gracious fountains providing a backdrop to the main arena under the oaks - to the yummy concession with the amazing Pina Colada smoothies - even the light rain all day Saturday couldn't keep the riders spirits down... word must have gotten out tho, as by Sunday morning Jeanne was receiving calls on her cell phone from folks reserving stalls for the July show! If you're looking for a quiet, one ring, traditional, confidance building show for you, your riders and/or equine partners - this is the show for you... Accommodations can be booked right on the property along with golf cart rentals available for the July show... email Jeanne at pwinslow1@cfl.rr.com if you need stalls and pre-entries are critical for this show to predict arena usage...Join us July 11th for our next show there!!
The inaugural Jacksonville show was also a tremendous hit - as all new jumps and fences in 3 arenas made their debut and we saw some very capable riders piloting their beautfully appointed hunters down over those 3'6" natural oxers...and huge numbers of jumpers out on the turf grand prix arena...Photos from the show can be seen at: www.wncphoto.com/hsitphj0609.html The course design was impeccable and greatly appreciated as Mr. Dan Cohn from Ocala, FL carefully guided HSITP to a new level, providing an element of professional and flawless course design in both the hunter and jumper arenas....watch this website in the near future for more info about Mr. Cohn's principles of course design... we welcome both Dan and his wife Kathleen to the team.... Jacksonville people - email Jeanne at pwinslow1@cfl.rr.com and let her know of any barns or feed stores - either around the Jax area or southern Georgia - that we can put our show flyers out in to help us get the word out about the Jacksonville show... our next show there is August 8,9, Sept 12,13 and October 10,11...and exciting plans are underway for JAX facility shows in the new year ...
We're getting ready for June's "Battle of the Barns" at Canterbury on June 27,28th - we've had some questions that we had been orignally billed it as a 3 day show - but due to feedback from a number of trainers relative to the impact the additional day would have had on their summer camps - we've gone ahead and pushed it back to 2 days - on Saturday and Sunday. Don't forget about the wonderful party that is planned for Saturday evening at Toni Werner's huge farm just 10 minutes away - flyers will be located in the show office with directions...
On logistical notes - we will be switching online entry tools to the on line entry feature at www.horseshowtime.com This should be in place by Monday/Tuesday prior to the "Battle of the Barns" show and will hopefully alleviate the occasional perplexing issues we've been having with our current website version...make your reservations now at the Marriott Fairfield in Gainesville for the Fall shows - as a few of them conflict with Fall Gator Football - and we all know how hard it is to find a room when that happens.....Canterbury Points are updated most capably by Joann Dapp and posted on this website - check them out and see where you are! Awards Banquet plans for December are almost finalized and the date will be communicated as we can...and we thank our Sponsors - Sunspree Mobile Tack who's sponsoring the Sunspree USHJA Equitation Medal Qualifier and Tenney's Custom Saddlery, the sponsor of our Junior/Adult USHJA Equitation Medal Qualifier... we thank our Melbourne competitor's patience as we've wound up the Spring/Summer circuit there and will be posting the winners momentarily on this website.... and last but not least - Jeanne will be releasing a survey tool very soon, to allow folks to provide input on awards, venues, divisions etc...so we can continue to make the shows better and better....
As Always… Eyes and Ears UP!
