AUGUST HEATWAVE SHOWS A SUCCESS!!!

Yes, it was hot - but the Hawaiian shirts, the leis were a popular item and the Surf was UP in Jacksonville.  Our Jax riders gathered Double Points as they rode, and all reported a good and successful show...our largest Weirsdale show to date had over 90 horses - and our Marshall and Sterling competitors went home with 3 days worth of points - congratulations!! We have some great ideas for additional Marshall and Sterling point opportunities for next year's Weirsdale shows - keep an eye on the emails! The biggest division of the day was Modified Hunter with 15 horses making their way around the main arena - and the competition throughout the two days was fierce.  We're on a short break now until September 11,12 at Jacksonville - remember that you need to show 6 times in your division at the venue you're going for points at - so take a look at the updated points when they're posted later this week and see where you're at in the standings. If you plan on adding points from another venue - keep in mind we don't do that automatically and need to be notified via email by the rider or trainer. Look for an electronic newsletter coming out very soon with all sorts of valuable info about the year end finals, rosters of qualified horses and riders for Horse of the Year honors and Equitation Medals, etc... so if  you're not on our email broadcast list - email the show secretary at wittyshowsec@earthlink.net to get on it. We simply don't do the paper program anymore and email is the way to go these days,,,

Riders - the most current schedule of classes and ring assignments will be posted prior to each show by Thursday. Please check and ensure you have the most recent program. We won't change class numbers but may change the order of them or the ring assignments depending on the number of pre-entries received. That's only one of the reasons why pre-entreis are so important - even for the jumpers!! At least let us know you're coming - even if you don't enter - as it really helps in the planning stages of each event.  HSITP will also be transitioning to the on line entry feature at www.horseshowtime.com and will be incluiding links to this service on the web as soon as our final testing of it is complete. We believe this will completely solve the on line entry snags we've been encounting with our own system over the last year. This is the same on line entry feature that hundreds of USEF rated shows use throughout the US and Canada - with an excellent rating of quality and dependability.

There's a new concession at the Canterbury showgrounds - we welcome the concession that is currently providing all the delicious food at the Southeast Livestock Pavillion in Ocala and look forward to their great menu - with more options than you've ever seen before...in a completely new setting as the old trailer was hauled away.  And to our Canterbury competitors from out of town - it looks like all the Fall Canterbury shows are on Gator Football weekends so start sourcing your hotel rooms now. Try one or two exits down or up from the Newberry Road exit - as well as farther West out past Newberry - there are more options there.  As Jeanne does research on these, she'll include them in an email and get it out to everyone...she's looking for rooms for show staff too! We might all be sleeping in the clubhouse...

Start to get excited...the year end ribbons are ordered and the prize roster is taking shape!
