PRIZES, AWARDS AND RECOGNITION FOR 2010
POINTS CALCULATION

  • Ties will be broken by the points earned Over Fences or within the Equitation portion of the divisions.
  • Points reported after each show, per venue, at www.horseshowsinthepark.com
  • Questions regarding points should be directed to pwinslow1@cfl.rr.com
  • All points are considered final as of November 30 of each show year.
  • Points are earned during the show year as stated for each venue: Canterbury/Jacksonville—December 1—November 30 and Melbourne/ Weirsdale—October 1—November 30.
  • Each of the 4 venue’s points are calculated and maintained separately.
  • POINTS ARE CALCULATED AS FOLLOWS:

1st place — 7 points 2nd place — 5 point 3rd place — 4 points 4th place — 3 points 5th place — 2 points 6th place — 1 point

DAILY HIGH POINT AWARDS

  • Each Saturday and Sunday shows are considered separate show days with their own high points.
  • Championship and Reserve awarded provided there are 3 competitors in each of the classes within the division
  • Jumper High Points are calculated on the basis of both Saturday and Sunday’s competition.

DIVISIONAL YEAR END AWARDS

Year end Championship and Reserve Prizes and ribbons through 8th place will be awarded for each of the HSITP divisions held within 2010 at each of the venues. To be eligible to receive an award or ribbon, the horse/pony or rider has to have earned points during a show day (Saturday or Sunday) within the venue’s respective division at least 6 times during the show year. Riders are eligible for awards for all venues, however each venue’s points are calculated separately. The year end awards banquet will be held in Ocala during December, for all venues unless otherwise deemed necessary to be split out due to the venue’s # of recipients. Show management reserves the right to change, combine, decline to award and/or determine prizes awarded. The following divisions are eligible for year end award at the various venues:

Points earned in Jumper and Hunter divisions stay with the horse. Points earned in the Novice and 4th arenas and Equitation go to the rider. Points earned in the combined divisions ie; Modified Hunter/Equitation—stay with the rider.

Riders may use 2 additional Canterbury shows to add to their Jacksonville points and riders may use 2 additional Jacksonville shows to add to their Canterbury points, with the exclusion of double pointed shows. Riders may re­ceive divisional awards in more than one venue.

NEW IN 2010!

A SPECIAL YEAR END “TRAVEL” AWARD — TO THE SINGLE CHILD/ADULT AMATEUR RIDER WITH THE MOST POINTS FROM ALL OF THE HSITP VENUES IN FLORIDA. (Rider must have shown at least once at 3 out of 4 of the venues.)

USHJA EQUITATION MEDAL OPPORTUNITIES—USHJA AND HSITP YEAR END FINALS TO BE HELD AT THE JACKSONVILLE EQUESTRIAN CENTER NOVEMBER 20,21 IN THE COLOSEUM

PRIZES, AWARDS AND RECOGNITION FOR 2010

2010 HORSE OF THE YEAR
3 Fence Heights—2’-2’3”, 2’6” , 2’9”

The Grand and Reserve divisional winners throughout out the year at all show venues will qualify and be invited to compete for Horse of the Year honors at the Year End Finals Competitions held at the November 20, 21 show at The Jacksonville Equestrian Center. The divisions per fence height that qualify are as noted below:

  • 2’-2’3” -Modified, Hopeful, Intermediate, Schooling
  • 2’6” -Training, Pre-Children’s, Adult Amateur, All Florida Hunter
  • 2’9”-3” -Open, Jr/Amateur Adult, Children’s/Adult, Low Hunter
  • Pleasure Horse/Pony of the Year— Pleasure Horse/Pony


2010 EQUITATION MEDAL AWARDS

2009 USHJA Affiliate Equitation Medal Awards: A set of National USHJA Equitation Awards for Outreach Competitions. Points are tracked on USHJA.org by state, and riders are eligible for awards from USHJA determined by point standings within the state of their residence. One USHJA high point award will be presented for each medal to the rider who accrues the most points annually in each state. The qualifying period is from December 1 to November 30. USHJA Awards may be presented to the riders at the USHJA annual convention and awards ceremonies. Riders may compete in only one Outreach Medal per competition and do not have to be a USHJA member to compete, however, three USHJA members must complete the course for the class to count for USHJA points purposes. Please access USHJA.com for more information regarding USHJA’s point tabulations. Only Outreach Members points are tracked on USHJA’s website. Outreach membership applications are available in the show office for $15.00 per show year. Marshall & Sterling Medal riders may cross enter into the USHJA medals and compete at year end in both.

In addition, points will be tracked per medal category by HSITP, and riders will be eligible for significant year end HSITP awards on the basis of their points earned in these medals. One Equitation Medal award per rider per year, awards from First to 8th place at year end. Equitation November Finals Qualification for HSITP will also be determined by the top 12 point earners in each medal category. Placings in the Equitation Medal Finals will be double pointed for year end MEDAL points calculation.

Each show weekend at Jax and Canterbury will contain the opportunity to compete TWICE in the USHJA Medal Categories*:

  • Bronze Medal – 2’3” -Riders may not cross enter into any division at 2’6” or higher at the same competition.
  • Silver Medal – 2’6” -. – Riders may not cross enter into any class exceeding 3’ at the same competition. Riders may not have competed at a national medal class at 3’ or higher.
  • Gold Medal – 3’ – Riders may not cross enter into any class exceeded 3’3” at the same competition.
  • Platinum Medal – 3’3” – Combinations and further testing may be warranted.

NOTE: The Top 12 eligible riders in each of the USHJA medal categories will be invited back to compete in the HSITP Year End Medal Finals at Jacksonville on November 20,21 for additional prizes and recognition awarded at the show at Saturday night’s competition. The rider’s placings in the Medal Finals will be double pointed for addi­tional Year End awards provided at the banquet per medal category

HSITP Medals and Pony Medal -Annual Year End Ribbons and/or awards will be provided to the top 6 riders with the most points in the Walk Trot Mini Medal, the 2’ HSITP Mini Medal and the Marshall & Sterling Pony Medal, provided they have shown in the class a minimum of 6 times during the show year. The Top 12 eligible riders in both the HSITP and Pony medals will be invited back to compete in the Year End Medal Finals for additional prizes and awards. The rider’s placings in the Medal Finals will be double pointed.

Walk Trot Cross Rails HSITP Mini Medal - Open to any age of rider who has not yet cantered in a show. May be asked to sit the trot, extend the trot and/or halt from the trot. Judge may ask a question of each competitor. Over fences may consist of approx 6-8 cross rails to be taken at a trot.

HSITP Mini-Medal—2’ - Open to any age rider who’s not jumped over 2’ at a show. Riders who place 1-6 in this class are invited back for year end Finals competition in November, if they’ve not jumped over 2’ during the show year.

*Weirsdale FCMR shows may also offer the USHJA Medals beginning in April 2010.
